Budoni

Budoni is located in the north-eastern area of Sardinia, between the municipalities of San Teodoro to the north and Posada to the south, along State Road S.S. 125 – the long coastal highway that runs along the eastern side of Sardinia from Cagliari to Olbia. Budoni is primarily a seaside resort.

Getting There

To reach Budoni from the south, it is not recommended to take the Eastern Sardinian road (Orientale Sarda), unless you are prepared for a long and patient drive through inhabited stretches and monotonous scenery.
Those arriving from Cagliari are advised to take the S.S. 131 north to Abbasanta, then turn right towards Nuoro and continue on the 131 bis to Budoni.

The Territory

Budoni belongs to the province of Olbia-Tempio. It boasts 18 km of coastline facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, offering stunning landscapes and sandy beaches surrounded by rocky cliffs.
The nearest beach is just 300 meters from the town center: a picturesque cove lined with pine forest, where the clear seabed alternates between sandy and rocky areas, with small outcrops near the shoreline.

Most Popular Beaches

Among the most popular beaches is Porto Ottiolu, fully equipped with parking, bars, services, paddle boat rentals, and nearby campgrounds. The marina at Ottiolu has 445 berths.
In summer, Budoni becomes a vibrant tourist destination, welcoming around 70,000 people. Its turquoise sea, clear waters, and beautiful natural settings, together with quality hospitality services, make Budoni one of the most sought-after holiday spots.

Beyond the Sea

Budoni isn’t just about the sea. The area includes lowland areas, but most of the territory is hilly and sparsely populated, except for its many hamlets.
These hamlets originated in the last century and are closely linked to Budoni’s summer folklore and traditions, especially the “stazzi”, ancient rural settlements.

Budoni’s Hamlets

The municipality includes numerous hamlets, each with its own identity and history. Among them are:
Agrustos (2.32 km), Baia Sant’Anna (4.43 km), Berruiles (5.71 km), Birgalavò (3.52 km), Limpiddu (1.30 km), Ludduì (4.09 km), Luttuni (2.00 km), Lutturai (5.65 km), Maiorca (4.56 km), Malamuri (3.34 km), Matta e Peru (6.05 km), Muriscuvò (2.31 km), Nuditta (6.29 km),
